Shane Beamer provides quick offseason injury update
Luckily for South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer, there’s not much new to report on the Gamecocks’ injury front.
After a nightmare season in terms of injuries, South Carolina’s fourth-year coach said Friday that it’s pretty much status quo with the Gamecocks now a few weeks into winter workouts.
“No, nothing new from last week,” Beamer said Friday. “Again, we got some guys that are pushing to get back. We do have some guys out there right now, that are limited as well, but no one new. I’ll probably have a more thorough injury report for you as we get closer to spring practice, but all those guys are, some of the guys that are limited right now are going to be cleared next week, and Rocket right now is probably the one, I don’t want to say long-term, but the one that won’t be ready for spring practice, but we’ll see as the spring goes.”

The “Rocket” Beamer is referring to is, of course, transfer running back Rocket Sanders, who joined the program last month after three seasons at Arkansas.
The former All-SEC back was spotted at the Gamecocks’ men’s basketball game with his arm in a sling as he’s continuing to recover from injuries that occurred last season.

Freshman early enrollee offensive lineman Kam Pringle was also on a scooter with his foot elevated as the team was introduced to the crowd.
“Secret’s out on those guys when they come out on a scooter and a sling. They’ll be limited. Won’t be able to go probably go at the beginning,” Beamer said last weekend. “Rocket won’t for sure, hopefully by the end of spring. We knew it when we brought him in it was going to be something. They’re attacking it right now to get him healthy and be ready to go for spring practice. He’ll certainly be limited at the start and hopefully will be able to get some stuff in by the end of spring.”

South Carolina has been working through its winter workout program for the last few weeks while the on-field coaching staff has been on the road recruiting prospects from the 2025 class.
With a dead period set to begin, the staff will be able to spend more time with the players in the coming weeks prior to spring practice beginning on March 19.
