Shane Beamer provides Tuesday injury report for Wofford game
While South Carolina is not required to participate in the SEC’s player availability report system this week since it faces an out-of-conference opponent, head coach Shane Beamer did provide an injury report for the Wofford game during his Tuesday press conference.
Beamer previously announced that tight end Brady Hunt is out for the next two games after suffering a lower-body non-contact injury against Missouri Saturday but he should be back for postseason play.
Carolina’s other two primary tight ends, Josh Simon and Michael Smith, were also banged up against the Tigers but still could play this week depending on how they progress.

“Outside of (Hunt), I would say that we’re optimistic on everyone else that didn’t finish the game,” Beamer said. “So if we had to put a report out, I would probably say maybe not probable or doubtful or questionable but optimistic on everyone else.”
Sophomore defensive back Judge Collier exited the Missouri game with a scary injury in the first half and was taken to the hospital as a precaution but the Rock Hill native has made a swift recovery.

“Judge Collier should be fine; he practiced today,” Beamer continued. “The ones that would be the most ‘questionable, probable, doubtful, optimistic’ would be the tight ends, just kind of seeing how they respond, outside of Brady. But they were out there today, just got to see how far they come along between now and Saturday. But everyone else should be good. Jared Brown is banged up a little bit but we’ll see how he is as the week goes also.”

Beamer will likely give another injury report on Thursday during his call-in show at 6 p.m.
The SEC recently approved a player availability injury report system for football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball but again South Carolina will not be required to participate this week.
The Gamecocks are set for a 4:15 p.m. kickoff Saturday against Wofford in what will be their home finale.
