WE’RE TALKIN’ ABOUT PRACTICE: Most practices will be held at the football practice fields, located at the west end of Gamecock Park adjacent to the Long Family Football Operations Center, or in the Jerri and Steve Spurrier indoor practice facility. All practices are scheduled for mornings, generally in the 9 o’clock hour. Saturday scrimmages will likely take place at Williams-Brice Stadium in the late morning hours.
SNEAK PEEK: Regularly credentialed members of the media will have three opportunities to watch the first six periods of practice. The viewing dates are Tuesday, March 19, Thursday, March 28, and Thursday, April 11. No live streaming will be allowed during this time. Media will be asked to stay on the south end of the practice fields, near the indoor facility unless otherwise advised.
HEARING FROM THE HEAD COACH: Head coach Shane Beamer will hold a press conference for five-consecutive Tuesdays during spring drills, beginning Tuesday, March 19 and continuing through Tuesday, April 16. The press conferences will take place in the defensive team/media room, located on the second floor of the Long Family Football Operations Center beginning at 12:30 pm. Coach Beamer’s press conferences will be streamed live on the official website of South Carolina Athletics, GamecocksOnline.com.
OC/DC SOUND CHECK: Offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains and defensive coordinator Clayton White will meet with the media twice during the spring – first on Wednesday, March 20, and again on Thursday, April 18, beginning at 12:15 pm.
COACH SPEAK: The remaining eight on-field coaches will each be made available to the media once during spring ball. Running backs coach Marquel Blackwell, wide receivers coach Mike Furrey, and defensive backs coach Torrian Gray will be available on Thursday, March 28. Offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley, defensive line coach Travian Robertson and outside linebackers/defensive ends coach Sterling Lucas will be available on Thursday, April 4. Run game coordinator/tight end coach Shawn Elliott and associated head coach/special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis are scheduled for Thursday, April 11. The three media opportunities are set to begin at 12:15 pm.
WHAT DID THE GAMECOCKS SAY?: Requested and approved offensive players will be available to meet with the media on Monday, March 25, while defensive players will be available for the first time on Wednesday, March 27. Players will also be available on Wednesday, April 3, Wednesday, April 10 and Wednesday, April 17. Requests must be submitted to Steve Fink no less than two business days in advance of the media availability. We will attempt to fulfill every request. However, please be aware that there is a finite amount of time to conduct the interviews and some players may have conflicts.
FOR YOUR EYES ONLY: All spring practices are closed to the general public with the exception of the Garnet & Black Spring Game.
PLAY THE GAME: The annual Garnet & Black Spring Game is scheduled for Saturday, April 20. Game time is set for 7 pm ET at Williams-Brice Stadium. Admission to the game is free.
