T.J. Sanders announces 2025 plans
South Carolina redshirt junior defensive lineman T.J. Sanders will forgo his final season of eligibility and enter the NFL Draft, he announced following the Citrus Bowl.
“Oh, it means everything,” Sanders said of his time at South Carolina. “They brought me in, they were my first offer. The loyalty and the trust that they put in me, I just felt that I had to instill back into them and I felt that they did that.”

Sanders, a projected top draft pick, finished the 2024 season with 50 tackles, including 4.0 sacks and 7.0 tackles-for-loss.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Marion, S.C. native completes his Carolina career with 109 tackles, including 9.5 sacks and 17.5 tackles-for-loss.

The former three-star prospect blossomed into a standout playmaker on an elite Carolina defensive front this season after emerging with a breakout 2023.
In the last two seasons, Sanders has combined for 8.5 sacks.
The Gamecocks fell 21-17 against Illinois Tuesday to finish the season 9-4. The loss snapped a six-game winning streak.
