Ryan, who was most recently the quarterbacks coach for the Carolina Panthers and has 15 years of experience in the league, joins new offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains in bringing a combined three decades of experience at that level to the Gamecocks’ program.
While a lot of space has already been used this offseason to talk about Loggains and what he hopes to bring to the offense, South Carolina redshirt freshman Tanner Bailey offered the first bit of real feedback on Ryan since he arrived when the quarterback was on the Garnet Trust Hour on 107.5 The Game Tuesday.
“A great addition,” Bailey said of Ryan. “Obviously, D-Lo, the first few weeks, he was kind of doing it by himself. We have Riley Watkins, who is a GA, who has done a great job as well. Coach Ryan comes in, obviously a long-time NFL vet guy as well.”
