VIDEO: Shane Beamer reviews Georgia State game on Sunday teleconference
South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer met with the media Sunday evening via teleconference, one day after the Gamecocks’ 35-14 season-opening victory over Georgia State.
Beamer provided the latest injury update, thoughts on the game after watching the film, team MVPs, and looked ahead to Arkansas.

Two likely questionable for Arkansas
South Carolina exited its season opener with Georgia State Saturday night in relatively solid health, though two players who were injured in the game are considered questionable for this coming week’s matchup with Arkansas, head football coach Shane Beamer said Sunday night during his teleconference.
“Injury-wise, came out of it okay,” Beamer said. “Looking at it, Jakai Moore, he left the game and would have been able to return if we needed him to last night but after seeing him today, his may be a little bit more significant than we initially thought, so I’d say he’s questionable for this week. RJ Roderick, we’ll know more tomorrow on him — I’d say he’s questionable this week. Other than that, we came out of it pretty solid.”

Roderick started the game at safety but injured his arm on the first drive of the game, giving way to freshman Nick Emmanwori, who collected three tackles and a pass breakup in his first career action with the Gamecocks.
Moore didn’t start the game but entered on two separate occasions, coming in at guard at one point and then later at tackle when starter Jaylen Nichols had to come out with an injury.
Nichols then returned to action when Moore limped off with an injury of his own.
Cornerback Darius Rush also came out of the game late but Beamer indicated in the postgame that he probably could have returned, and Rush was not a part of Sunday night’s injury report.

Senior running back Christian Beal-Smith, a Wake Forest transfer, missed the game as he continues to nurse a foot injury.
“Hopefully, we can get Christian Beal-Smith back this week and we’ll see how it goes on practice on Tuesday,” Beamer said Sunday.
Wide receiver Corey Rucker also missed the opener with a lower leg injury but there was no new update on the Arkansas State transfer on Sunday.
The Gamecocks (1-0) are set to travel to Arkansas (1-0) this week in what will be the first SEC matchup of the season for both teams.
The No. 19 Razorbacks opened with a 31-24 victory over No. 23 Cincinnati on Saturday.
This week’s matchup is scheduled for a noon kickoff on ESPN.
