At long last, it’s finally NFL Draft week. With all the action beginning Thursday night, it’s going to be a big week for some former South Carolina Gamecocks hoping to hear their names called.

Two players that should be selected at some point are Spencer Rattler and Xavier Legette. On Tuesday, ESPN’s Jordan Reid shared every single pick in his final mock draft.

Reid has the Carolina Panthers selecting Legette with the 39th overall pick in the second round. This makes sense for both sides as the Panthers are in desperate need of playmakers for second-year quarterback Bryce Young. But for Legette, it would mean he gets to stay close to home, something he wouldn’t mind at all.

The Mullins (South Carolina) native had a breakout season in 2023 for the Gamecocks, catching 71 passes for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns.

While this is a loaded receiver draft class, Legette should definitely be selected in the early rounds, whether it’s on the first or second day.

Later in the third round, Reid sees the Los Angeles Rams looking to find their quarterback of the future with Matthew Stafford only getting older. With the 83rd overall pick, the Rams would be taking Rattler.

In his final year at South Carolina, Rattler threw for 3,186 yards with 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

The 2024 NFL Draft gets going in Detroit on Thursday at 8 p.m. on ESPN/ABC. The event will run through Saturday (12 p.m.).
