South Carolina football will be without four players due to injuries when the Gamecocks open spring camp on Wednesday, head coach Shane Beamer said during a press conference Monday afternoon.

Michael Smith will not go through spring practice at tight end,” Beamer said. “Caleb Williams will not go through spring practice on the defensive line. Ryan Brubaker will not go through spring practice on the offensive line. And Damola (Ajidahun), our freshman offensive lineman, will not go through spring practice.”

South Carolina’s fifth-year head coach added that none of the injuries are expected to affect the 2025 season.

“Unfortunately, those four guys are out for spring with some injury things that we wanted to go ahead and get done now, so they’d be ready for the season, and they all will be,” Beamer continued. “Optimistic that maybe a couple of guys will be able to do a little bit more towards the end of spring practice but right now they won’t start with us and we’ll see how it goes as we go through the spring. But other than that, everybody is in good shape.”

Smith was a major part of the Gamecocks’ rotation last season starting seven games and catching 10 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown.

Brubaker served as South Carolina’s backup center last year and saw action in five games.

Williams and Ajidahun are freshman early enrollees in the Gamecocks’ 2025 recruiting class. Williams was an early pledge to South Carolina while Ajidahun flipped his commitment from Georgia Tech on National Signing Day.

The Gamecocks kick off their 2025 spring slate this Wednesday at 9:43 a.m.
