Report: LSU hiring South Carolina DL coach Jimmy Lindsey
South Carolina defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey is set to take the same role at LSU after two years in Columbia, according to a report from On3’s Matt Zenitz citing sources.
Lindsey, according to the report, has a long-standing relationship with LSU defensive coordinator Matt House going all the way back to 2005 when they worked together at Gardner Webb.
GamecockCentral confirmed with two sources familiar with Lindsey that the move appears to be true.

Lindsey was hired to South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer’s initial staff after Beamer took over the program in 2020. Lindsey joined the staff in January of 2021.
Born in Cheraw, S.C. with a hometown of Morven, N.C., Lindsey joined the South Carolina staff after a season on Lovie Smith’s staff at Illinois.
Considered a strong recruiter, Lindsey spent the three seasons prior at Western Kentucky with current South Carolina defensive coordinator Clayton White.
Despite Lindsey’s role as defensive line coach, he primarily handled the Gamecocks’ interior lineman with Sterling Lucas developing the defensive end and EDGEs.
Lindsey was the primary position coach for Zacch Pickens, who will likely be selected on Day 2 of the NFL Draft this weekend, and was the primary recruiter for four-star JUCO defensive line addition Elijah Davis this past recruiting cycle.

South Carolina has had relatively little staff turnover this offseason.
Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield, who had an up-and-down two years in Columbia, left after the regular season to go to Nebraska and was replaced by Dowell Loggains.
