South Carolina running back Dante “Lil Turbo” Miller posted a somewhat cryptic caption on Instagram earlier this week that seemed to read like he might not be granted the extra year of eligibility he’s been seeking from the NCAA.

“Though I may not be back on the field this coming season the journey is far from over,” Miller said in the post. “More life to me and Happy Mothers Day to all of the hard working women out there.”

But South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer said Wednesday night in Summerville before his latest stop on the Welcome Home Tour that there still isn’t a final decision.

“Still kind of in the appeal process, as far as all that goes,” Beamer said.

As a Gamecock, Miller carried the ball six times for 38 yards in his one season at South Carolina. His best game came against South Carolina State as he finished with two carries for 29 yards.

Miller joined the South Carolina roster as a graduate transfer preferred walk-on in 2022 after graduating from Columbia University.

At Columbia, he played in 26 games, making seven starts from 2018-21. He also rushed for 1,281 yards on 258 carries with six touchdowns in his career with the Lions.

The Gamecocks are still looking to add depth to a running back room that lost MarShawn Lloyd, Christian Beal-Smith and Rashad Amos from last season’s group.

South Carolina football players will be able to opt in to upcoming EA Sports college football game

By Wes Mitchell

South Carolina football players who want to be in EA Sports new college football video game in 2024 will have the chance to do so.

Several reports broke on Wednesday that EA has contracted OneTeam Partners to facilitate college athletes’ likeness for the upcoming game.

ESPN’s Michael Rothstein first reported that news this morning with sources also confirming it to On3’s Pete Nakos.

GamecockCentral has also confirmed that South Carolina is one of the reportedly 120 schools that have committed to being in the game and have been exchanging digital assets featuring school traditions with EA to feature in the game.
