South Carolina Women’s Basketball: NewsRecruitingScheduleRosterStatsSEC StandingsNCAA PollsScholarship Chart

The South Carolina women’s basketball team is No. 1 in the country, undefeated and still hungry for more. They are set to face nine-seed Texas A&M in the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament—who upset eight seed Mississippi State yesterday. The Gamecocks have their eyes set on making history, by winning their eighth  SEC tournament championship. They will just need to continue to do what they do best—play good defense and utilize its depth.

Last Time Out

South Carolina vs. Texas A&M

Last time out South Carolina got the win over Texas A&M 99-64, on the road at College Station. In her young SEC season, MiLaysia Fulwiley had a career-high 21 points off the bench for the Gamecocks. In addition, South Carolina’s post depth dominated the game in the paint with Sania Feagin adding 15 points, Kamilla Cardoso with 17 points and 13 Rebounds and Chloe Kitts with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assist. Endiya Rodgers added 21 points for Texas A&M.

South Carolina’s Advantage

Dawn’s Dynamic Duo: Defense and Depth!

If there’s two things that have been constant for this year’s team, it’s their defense and their depth. Coach Staley can utilize players 1-9 at any time during a game. It gives them an advantage over their opponents because they are versatile, athletic, and in excellent game-playing shape (Shout out to Body by Binetti). South Carolina is averaging 33.2 points a game in bench points. Having a good bench in March, allows you to make a deep run in April.

What to Expect

Expect the unexpected but expect what we have seen all season from this young South Carolina team—poise, grit and dominance.
