South Carolina LB Bam Martin-Scott signs NIL deal with Garnet Trust
South Carolina will officially be returning another one of its impact defensive players after Bam Martin-Scott signed a name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal with Garnet Trust.
Garnet Trust, the official NIL collective of University of South Carolina athletics, made the announcement via X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday.
The Snider (Indiana) native signed with South Carolina as part of its 2021 transfer class. After not making a start until Oct. 11 this year, he burst onto the scene as an emerging star on the Gamecocks’ defense.
During the 2023 campaign, Martin-Scott appeared in 10 games, starting 3 of them. He tallied 38 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks and one pass defended. 28 of those tackles came in South Carolina’s final three contests of the season.
Bam Martin-Scott South Carolina Bio
Former junior college linebacker who is in his third season with the squad… versatile player who is long and super athletic… can play the two inside linebacker spots… goal is to become an every-down linebacker… expected to see his playing time increase significantly.
2022 (Redshirt Junior)
Appeared in all 13 games as a reserve linebacker and on special teams… credited with 16 tackles including 10 solo stops… had an interception and three pass breakups… notched his lone tackle for loss against Georgia… recorded his first interception in the win over South Carolina State… posted a career-high four tackles and forced his first career fumble at Florida.
2021 (Junior)
Joined the team in August after spending two seasons at Dodge City (Kan.) Community College… appeared in four contests as a special teams contributor… saw action against Kentucky, Texas A&M, Auburn and Clemson… did not record any statistics… redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated from Snider High School in Fort Wayne, Ind. in 2019… considered a late bloomer who did not get much playing time in high school until his senior season.

Tavareon M. Martin-Scott was born July 4, 2000… earned the nickname “Bam” as a reference to the fireworks customary on his birthday… is an interdisciplinary studies major who graduated in May.
