A big match up for South Carolina tonight in a battle of teams at a pivotal moment in their seasons.

The Gamecocks (16-10, 7-7 SEC) take on Missisisppi State (16-11, 7-7 SEC) at home Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. on the SEC Network.

It’s a close game with KenPom projecting a one-point Mississippi State win and giving the Gamecocks a 44 percent chance to win.

You can find the live updates right here.

The Gamecocks have won three straight and are looking for four to try and inch toward the bubble. State is coming off back-to-back wins over Missouri, including a two-point win Sunday. This is Mississippi State’s fourth game in eight days.

A loss would certainly be a dent in the Gamecocks’ bubble chances while a win inches them closer and closer to a postseason berth.

A win would count right now as a Quad II victory for the Gamecocks’ resume.

South Carolina is ranked middle of the pack defensively in the SEC while Mississippi State is middle of the pack in both, higher though offensively. The Gamecocks are 13th in offensive efficiency.

The last time these two teams played State won comfortably but the Bulldogs are just 1-7 away from home this season.
