South Carolina guard Ebrima Dibba to miss season
South Carolina men’s basketball transfer guard Ebrima Dibba will miss the 2022-23 season due to an Achilles injury suffered in on-court summer workouts.
The Bredäng, Sweden, native had successful surgery and has already begun the rehab process.
“What an unfortunate set of circumstances for Ebo,” said head coach Lamont Paris. “He is an extraordinary young man who has worked incredibly hard to get to this point. It will be this work ethic, as well as his positive attitude, that will spearhead his recovery. He has already begun attacking his rehabilitation with a determination I have not seen in a long time.”

Speaking with Gamecock Central in April, the 6-foot-6, 205-pound rising senior said it was an easy decision to make the short move from Conway to Columbia.
“I think the main thing was the coaching staff,” Dibba said. “They’re motivated. They have a thing going on, they believe in their vision, and I believe in the vision they told me. I’m really excited. I want to help put South Carolina back at the top where they belong and I want to be a part of something special, to build the program back up. Why not? It’s a good fit. It’s SEC. I’ve got all the resources to be successful, so for me, it was an easy choice.”

By Collyn Taylor
Arden Conyers still remembers going to a South Carolina men’s basketball game when he was younger and getting a picture with Cocky.
The local kid grew up wanting to play for the Gamecocks, and Monday night he made that a reality.
“Emotionally, it’s starstruck,” he told GamecockCentral. “It’s crazy how everything works. I put in a lot of work. Emotionally, I’m just very excited to get to work.”
Conyers committed to South Carolina, becoming the program’s second commitment in as many days.
