What to Know about Missouri
- Missouri is 7-2 with a 3-2 record in SEC play.
- The Tigers are bowl-eligible and ranked 21st, 23rd, and 24th in the USA Today Coaches Poll, College Football Playoff Ranking, and AP Poll, respectively.
- In their only SEC road games this season, Missouri is 0-2 and was outscored 75-10 by Alabama and Texas A&M.
- The most recent two games in the series (2023 in Columbia, Missouri and 2022 in Columbia, South Carolina) have been the worst in the series for Carolina. The Gamecocks have lost by a combined score of 57-22 in non-competitive contests.
- Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz is undefeated against the Gamecocks. He is 4-0 at Mizzou and also won in 2019 as the headman at Appalachian State.
- The Tigers likely will be without both members of their starting quarterback-center battery. Connor Tollison is out for the year at center, and quarterback Brady Cook is expected to miss another contest on Saturday. Talented receiver Mookie Cooper joins Cook with a “doubtful” designation.
- By the numbers, Missouri’s offense has been very similar to South Carolina’s this season (less than 10 yards and three points difference per game). So has the defense (less than seven yards and yard points difference per game). However, while the Gamecocks are playing their best ball right now, the Tigers are playing their worst.
- Wide receivers Luther Burden and Theo Wease, offensive tackle Armand Membou, EDGE Johnny Walker, Jr., and safety Daylan Carnell are legitimate NFL Draft prospects.
