Things will remain the same from an injury standpoint as South Carolina looks to snap a four-game losing streak when it takes on Oklahoma on Saturday.

The Gamecocks will be without starters Myles Stute and Jamarii Thomas for the third straight game, per Friday’s SEC student-athlete availability report. Both aren’t expected to be back anytime soon as the team continues SEC play.

Stute is still out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a blood clot in his lower left leg on Jan. 7. Three days after the Stute injury news, South Carolina announced Thomas would miss three to four weeks after suffering a right knee sprain during practice.

In their absence, the Gamecocks have rolled with a starting lineup consisting of Jacobi Wright, Morris Ugusuk, Zachary Davis, Collin Murray-Boyles, and Nick Pringle over the last two games. Ugusuk and Davis were the additions made to fill those voids.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma is in good health for Saturday, with no players listed on the injury report. The Sooners will also be looking for their first conference win after getting off to an 0-4 start.

During the offseason, the SEC approved a new policy that mandates availability reports for conference games. The reports will be required for football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball. For football, teams submit reports on Wednesday and then update them each day until a final report 90 minutes before game time. For basketball and baseball, reports will be submitted the evening before a game and then updated on game day.

The availability reports will use designations such as “available,” “probable,” “questionable,” “doubtful” and “out” to describe how likely it is that a particular player will suit up for the next conference game. On game day, those designations will shift to “out” or “game-time decision.” The reports model professional sports leagues’ injury reports.

South Carolina and Oklahoma will tip off at 4 p.m. from Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma, on Saturday. The game can be viewed on ESPNU.
