South Carolina reveals uniform combination for Oklahoma contest
On Saturday, South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer will take his Gamecock team to Norman, Oklahoma for a matchup against his former team. Beamer spent three years as the associate head coach and tight ends coach with the Sooners before his hire as USC’s head coach following the 2020 season.
Ahead of the first-ever meeting between the two programs, fans weren’t given much heads up about the Gamecocks’ uniform combination. Oklahoma announced a white-out in the stands for Saturday’s Homecoming game against South Carolina. However, the school didn’t reveal whether the Sooners’ team on the field would wear white or crimson.
On Friday night, the South Carolina football social media teams posted a video of the Gamecocks’ black helmet. However, like was the case with the throwbacks against Akron and all-whites against Alabama, the Block C was bigger.
It wasn’t until Saturday morning, though, that USC gave any additional uniform insight. Then, on Saturday morning, the team dropped the official announcement.

South Carolina has not worn black-white-white this season. Back in 2022, the Gamecocks upset the top-10 Clemson Tigers on the road while wearing the uniform combination. During the Gamecocks’ win over the Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington, Carolina wore white jerseys and pants but garnet helmets. The team wore the all-white “stormtrooper” look in last week’s loss to Alabama.
South Carolina is 1-1 on the road in the SEC this season, while Oklahoma is 0-1 at home in conference play.
