South Carolina set to face Big East foe in Fort Myers Tip-Off
Another piece to the puzzle that is South Carolina men’s basketball’s non-conference schedule has been announced.
The Gamecocks will take part in the Fort Myers Tip-Off during Thanksgiving week later this year. They’ll play in the tournament’s opening game against Xavier on Nov. 25. Tip-off will be at 8:30 p.m. on FS1. Michigan vs. Virginia Tech will be on the other side of the bracket.

All games will be played at Suncoast Credit Union Arena on the campus of Florida Southwestern State College.
South Carolina previously faced Xavier one time back on Dec. 19, 1941. The Musketeers picked up a 63-43 win that day.
Last season, Xavier finished 16-18 in head coach Sean Miller’s second year at the helm. It was a big step back after the Musketeers won 27 games and reached the Sweet 16 in Miller’s first season back in 2022.
As for the Gamecocks, they’ll be coming off a season in which they won 26 games and reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017.
South Carolina will open the 2024-25 season at home against North Florida on Nov. 4.
