Speaking of Clemson, this week, Softball America released their updated bracketology, and both South Carolina and Clemson slotted in as host sites. The outlet projected the Gamecocks as the No. 3 overall seed and the Tigers at No. 13.

That also means that the Palmetto State rivalry would feature as a potential Super Regional matchup.

In Softball America’s update, South Carolina would host Virginia (2), North Florida (3), and Radford (4), while Clemson would host Auburn (2), Liberty (3), and Elon (4). If both teams won their respective Regionals, then Columbia, South Carolina would serve as the host site for a best-of-three series between the bitter rivals. A spot in the Women’s College World Series would be on the line.

USC beat Clemson 6-0 in Columbia in their only matchup so far this season. They will play again in the Upstate during the mid-week next week.
