South Carolina softball catcher Mya Flindt enters transfer portal

Mya Flindt, a freshman catcher on the South Carolina softball team, is entering the transfer portal, she announced in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday.
“Thank you South Carolina for an unforgettable freshman season,” Flindt said in the post. “After many conversations with my family, I have decided to officially enter my name into the Transfer Portal with 3 years of eligibility left.”

Flindt primarily served as a pinch hitter this past season, appearing in 18 games and starting one. She went 6-19 (.316) at the plate with two doubles, one home run, four RBIs and two runs scored.

Flindt is the third player on South Carolina’s active roster to enter the transfer portal this offseason, following the pitching duo of Kadie Becker and Olivia Kotowski.
The NCAA transfer portal window for softball opened on May 18 and will remain open until June 16. Graduate students can enter the portal at any time.
