South Carolina will wrap up spring practice with its annual Garnet and Black Spring Game on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. from Williams-Brice Stadium.

With how much the idea of the spring game has changed at other schools, things will remain the way they have been for the Gamecocks. They will play a full intrasquad scrimmage under the lights. Head coach Shane Beamer said he wants to “have two teams and play as much like a game as we possibly can.”

Here are some FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) and everything you need to know before all the action begins.

Is the spring game on TV?

No, it won’t be televised. The only way you will be able to watch the game is by going in person. But you can listen live on 107.5 The Game in the Midlands, with airtime at 6:30 p.m.

If you’re curious as to why South Carolina isn’t broadcasting the game like in years past, Beamer provided a full explanation that you can read here. But instead of airing the scrimmage, the Gamecocks will take part in a 30-minute original spring football show that will air on ESPN platforms at a later date.

Is admission free?

Yes. Admission is free. So it won’t cost you anything to watch the game at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. Only gates along the west side of the stadium (Bluff Road side) will be open for fans. The clear-bag policy, along with other regular game day policies, will still be in effect.

Parking in all Gamecock Park and Woodstock lots will be free. It will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Quad 1 parking in Gamecock Park will open at 3:30 p.m. via the main gate off Bluff Road. The two Gamecock Park gates on National Guard Road, along with Woodstock, will open at 5 p.m. LMC Fair Park will open at 3:30 p.m. and will be $10 per car.

When is Gamecock Walk?

Gamecock Walk will start at 5:30 p.m., two hours before kickoff. The team will arrive a few minutes before then and head into the stadium, led by Cocky, South Carolina’s drumline and spirit teams. If you plan on going, you’ll want to get a spot early along the Tommy Suggs Garnet Way as the team walks into the stadium.

What other events will be going on this weekend?

Then on Saturday, the baseball team will face the Rebels in the series finale, with first pitch at 2 p.m. on SEC Network Plus. Meanwhile, softball will open a three-game series against Kentucky at Beckham Field. First pitch of game one will be at 3 p.m. on SEC Network Plus.

The softball team, ranked No. 13 in the country, will then play the Wildcats on Sunday and Monday, with first pitch of those games at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively. Monday’s game will be on SEC Network.

The Cocky Trot 5K & Fun Run/Walk has normally been on the morning of the spring game. But this year, it will take place the week after, on Saturday, April 26, and begin at 9 a.m. For more information, click here.
