South Carolina to be without Myles Stute due to injury
After losing a tough game on Tuesday, South Carolina took another big hit by way of injury to its starting five.
Forward Myles Stute will be out for the next two to three weeks with a left shoulder strain. He left the game Tuesday night against Georgia with 10:57 to go in the second half and didn’t return.
The injury took place when he was attempting to grab a rebound on a free throw. A flagrant one, hook and hold was assessed on the play.
After the game, head coach Lamont Paris said Stute would immediately get an MRI the next day and was “in a lot of pain right now.”

In the grand scheme of things, it’s a big loss for South Carolina. Stute was a consistent starter at the forward position for the Gamecocks. So far this year, he’s been averaging 9.9 minutes per game on 43.2 percent shooting.
With Stute down, Paris will now have to make another change to his lineup. The only other games where the starting five hasn’t been the same was when Meechie Johnson missed a game with a knee injury a few weeks back. And then, Collin Murray-Boyles has been starting over Stephen Clark for the past two games.
South Carolina (14-3, 2-2 SEC) will be back on the road to play Arkansas (10-7, 1-3 SEC) on Saturday. Tip-off is at 1 p.m. on SEC Network.
