South Carolina wide receiver no longer with program

South Carolina wide receiver Ahmari Huggins-Bruce is no longer part of the Gamecocks’ program, Shane Beamer confirmed Thursday night during his weekly call-in show, Carolina Calls.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Huggins-Bruce will re-enroll at Louisville and weigh out his options from there. Nakos added if he were to re-join the Cardinals, he would have to walk-on.
A native of Dillon, SC, Huggins-Bruce arrived in Columbia in January after transferring in from Louisville. Spending three seasons with the Cardinals, he appeared in 38 games and had 80 career receptions for 1,121 yards and ten touchdowns.

With one year of eligibility remaining, he was one of five receivers who transferred into South Carolina this offseason. The 5-foot-11 170-pounder was originally recruited by former Gamecocks WR coach Justin Stepp.
With the departure of Huggins-Bruce, South Carolina currently has 12 wide receivers on scholarship. Those players are Jared Brown, Gage Larvadain, Dalevon Campbell, Vandrevius Jacobs, Luke Doty, Payton Mangrum, Nyck Harbor, Tyshawn Russell, Elijah Caldwell, CJ Adams, Mazeo Bennett, and Debron Gatling.

Mid-August Update: Where South Carolina stands with their 2025 recruiting class
While South Carolina is nine days away until they kick off a new season, the Gamecocks are looking to continue to add to their 2025 recruiting class.
As of this story, South Carolina is ranked 29th in the 2025 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings. That’s down three spots since last month and a drop of seven spots in the past two months. With the additions of Texas and Oklahoma, that puts USC in 13th out of 16 teams in the SEC. That’s two spots lower than where they were four weeks ago.
