South Carolina women's basketball: Could Chloe Kitts join Collin Murray-Boyles as a draftee?

On Wednesday night, Collin Murray-Boyles was selected ninth overall by the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Draft. He became the first lottery pick and second-highest pick in program history.
Murray-Boyles was joined at the draft by his parents, women’s assistant coach Khadijah Sessions, and his girlfriend Chloe Kitts.
Murray-Boyles and Kitts have a playful basketball rivalry. They were workout partners last summer, pushing each other before their breakout seasons. Two days after Kitts notched a triple-double at Ole Miss, Murray-Boyles scored a career-high 35 points against Arkansas.
After he was picked, Murray-Boyles thanked Kitts for helping him reach the NBA.
“She’s amazing for me,” he said. “She knows the sacrifices of being a basketball player, especially professional basketball player. So she understands that, and she fully embraces it. She never takes anything for granted, never takes my time for granted. I never take her for granted, as well. Enjoying each other’s company as much as possible. She’s been really good for me. Obviously, she plays on the women’s team. How they play is something that I like to watch. How fast they go is almost relatable to how fast the NBA goes and how fast-paced it is. I watch Dawn Staley a lot and see what she does, and that will be what it is for me at the next level.”
Social media took note of Kitts, who wore a bright red dress and, later, an ill-fitting Toronto Raptors hat. Could the scene be reversed next April at the WNBA Draft? The new Toronto expansion team will even be making its first selections.
Here’s a look at where Kitts (and other Gamecocks) are projected in way-too-early mock drafts.

Chloe Kitts
The Athletic: 17th-best prospect (The Athletic simply ranked prospects rather than a mock draft)
ESPN: 10th pick
CBS Sports: 9th pick
BleacherReport: 10th pick
Consensus analysis: Kitts is a good all-around player who needs to continue to improve her three-point shot. She has gotten better each season, and whoever drafts her thinks she will continue to improve.

Ta’Niya Latson
The Athletic: 7th
ESPN: 4th pick
CBS Sports: 3rd pick
BleacherReport: 5th pick
Consensus analysis: Latson is undersized but still an elite scorer. She has improved her all-around game each season.
Madina Okot
The Athletic: Not ranked
ESPN: 15th pick
CBS Sports: 14th pick
BleacherReport: 12th pick
Consensus analysis: Her size can’t be replicated, and Okot has a lot of upside. South Carolina bigs are pretty successful in the WNBA.
Ashlyn Watkins
The Athletic: 5th
ESPN: Not listed
CBS Sports: 12th pick
BleacherReport: Not listed
Consensus analysis: An elite defender and capable offensive player with a lot of question marks.
Making mock drafts before a draft order is even established is entirely pointless. These mocks also don’t include a second round.
