South Carolina women's basketball: Agot Makeer adds another All-America honor

South Carolina’s decorated 2025 signee Agot Makeer was named a SLAM High School Girls All-American this week.
Makeer is one of six players on the All-American team. She is joined by Jazzy Davidson (Southern Cal), Grace Knox (LSU), Aaliyah Crump (Texas), Sienna Betts (UCLA), and Aaliyah Chavez (Oklahoma).
Makeer is a 6-1 wing who was born in North Dakota but grew up in Ontario, Canada, and competes internationally for Canada. Makeer transferred to Montverde Academy in Florida for her senior high school season.
SLAM wrote the following about Makeer:
“When the ball is in her hands, Agot Makeer makes winning plays every single time. The 6-1 combo guard from Toronto with an all-around game can dish it, shoot it, run the floor and snag rebounds. All of that potential has Gamecocks fans hyped for the program’s future. Under Dawn Staley’s nurturing vision, Makeer is a star in the making.”
Makeer was also recognized as a McDonald’s All-American and an honorable mention Naismith All-American. She was invited to play in the Nike Hoop Summit and Jordan Brand Classic. In those games, Makeer stood out as a defensive specialist.
