A’ja Wilson is one of the cover athletes for the upcoming NBA2K25 video game. She will appear on the covers of the WNBA and All-Star Editions.

The other cover athletes are Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum and retired NBA star Vince Carter. Tatum appears on the Standard Edition and shares the cover of the All-Star Edition with Wilson. Carter appears on the Hall of Fame Edition.

The announcement comes two months after Wilson announced the launch of her signature Nike shoe. The announcement came before the Las Vegas Aces played an exhibition game in Columbia. It was made via a shirt Wilson and Dawn Staley wore that said “OfCourseSheHasAShoe.com.”

The slogan was a reference to criticism that Wilson did not yet have her own she. Wilson’s personal logo, which she had been secretly wearing as a necklace for months, was announced a few weeks ago.

Beginning in 2021, in conjunction with the WNBA’s 25th season, NBA 2K began including WNBA players on the cover of its special editions.

Candance Parker was the first WNBA player included. She appeared on the cover of the NBA 2K22 WNBA 25th Anniversary Edition. The next year, Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi were on the cover of NBA2K23 WNBA Edition. Last year, Sabrina Ionescu was on the cover of the NBA2K24 WNBA Edition.

Wilson is the first WNBA player to appear on a version other than the WNBA Edition.

NBA2K25 can be pre-ordered at nba.2k.com/. It is available on PlayStation, XBox, and Steam. The WNBA Edition is only available at GameStop. The game will be released on September 6, 2024.
