South Carolina women's basketball: Aliyah Boston, Allisha Gray, and A'ja Wilson selected in WNBA All-Star draft

A’ja Wilson and Aliyah Boston will be All-Star teammates and face off against Allisha Gray in the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game. The player draft was Tuesday night.
As the top two vote-getters in the fan vote, Indiana’s Caitlin Clark and Minnesota’s Napheesa Collier were announced as the team captains. They selected their teams from the remaining eight starters and the 12 reserves. After the picks, they could make trades.
Clark had the first pick and selected Boston. Gray was Collier’s second selection (fourth overall. Wilson has the next pick, made by Clark.
In addition to Boston and Wilson, Team Clark includes starters Satou Sabally and Sabrina Ionescu, and reserves Kelsey Mitchell, Gabby Williams, Sonia Citron, Kiki Iriafen, Jackie Young, and Kayla THornton.
Gray is joined on Team Collier by starters Breanna Stewart, Nneka Ogwumike, and Paige Bueckers, plus reserves Courtney Williams, Skylar Diggins, Angel Reese, Alyssa Thomas, Kelsey Plum, and Rhyne Howard.
In her third season, Boston will make her third All-Star appearance. She was second in fan voting last season and fourth in 2022, when she became just the eighth rookie to start in the All-Star Game.
Boston is averaging career-highs with 16.6 points and 3.5 assists. She also averages 8.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks. Boston leads the WNBA in field goal percentage at 59.7%.

Gray is having a career season and is a starter for the first time. Gray was a reserve in 2023 and 2024. Last season, she also swept the three-point contest and the skills challenge.
Gray is averaging 19.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists, all career-highs. She is also hitting a career-best 41.6% from three and is second in the league in three-pointers made.
Wilson, the reigning WNBA MVP, is making her seventh All-Star appearance. She has made the All-Star Game every season except for 2020, when there was no All-Star Game (she won her first MVP award that season).
Wilson has been a starter in every All-Star Game except her first. She was a captain in 2019 when she was the second-highest vote getter, and again in 2022 and 2023 when she was the leading vote getter.
Last season, Wilson set all-time records for points and rebounds in a season. This season, she is averaging 21.9 points (second in the league), 9.0 rebounds (second in the league), 3.3 assists, 2.6 blocks (leads the league), and 1.8 steals.
The game will be played in Indianapolis on July 19.
