During her South Carolina career, Gray made the most out of her one year on the active roster. Following her transfer from North Carolina, the left-handed guard helped lead USC to its first National Championship. On the 2016-2017 season, Gray scored in double-figures 29 times as she averaged 13.2 points per game on 51% shooting. She played some of her best ball in the NCAA Tournament, setting a then-record at USC for field goals made in a single tournament by making 42 shots from the field.
