This week, South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley and her team reminded the country who they are. With a double-digit win over the No. 8 Duke Blue Devils in the SEC/ACC Challenge and an absolute blowout on the road of the No. 9 TCU Horned Frogs, USC flexed their collective muscles. The Gamecocks, even with a loss to UCLA two weeks ago, are the top program in the sport, and there is a very real chance they are the best team in America once again.

But where does South Carolina rank in the national polls?

Following the UCLA loss, Carolina dropped to No. 4 in the AP top 25 but took a step up again a week later. When the latest AP Poll dropped on Monday, the Gamecocks remained idle. Once again, the Associated Press slotted South Carolina into the No. 3 spot in their top 25. Like last week, only the UCLA Bruins (1) and UConn Huskies (2) are above Coach Staley’s team in the AP hierarchy.
