Where South Carolina women's basketball sits in the AP top-25 after bounce-back week

South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley didn’t panic following her team’s consecutive Sunday losses. Instead, she challenged the team to “play a resemblance of who we are” as a unit. The Gamecocks then answered her call, bouncing back with two lopsided wins in SEC play over Arkansas and Vanderbilt.
After the victories, Carolina is 25-3 overall and 13-1 in conference play. The Texas Longhorns play Georgia on Monday night to determine if USC and UT remain tied at the top of the SEC.

During the recent rough patch, South Carolina slid down from No. 2 in the Associated Press’ top 25 to No. 6. The losses to UConn and Texas weren’t resume-killers, but the defeats have allowed several teams to catch up to the Gamecocks’ pace at the top of the NET resume rankings. When the AP updated their top-25 rankings on Monday, USC featured at No. 6 once again. Texas took over the top spot following Notre Dame’s loss last week.
