South Carolina women's basketball: Four Gamecocks set to compete in USA Basketball's 3X Nationals

Four South Carolina Gamecocks will compete at the 2025 USA Basketball 3X Nationals this weekend in Mesa, Arizona.
Joyce Edwards, Chloe Kitts, Tessa Johnson, and Maddy McDaniel will represent South Carolina at the event. This is the first 3×3 experience for all four players.
Edwards won a gold medal with the 2023 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup team and was a member of the 2024 Women’s U18 National Team. Kitts won gold medals at the 2022 FIBA Women’s U18 Americas Championship and the 2023 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup.
McDaniel has attended USA Basketball training camps in 2023 and 2024. This is Johnson’s first USA Basketball appearance.
The women’s tournament features 16 teams, including Florida, Oklahoma State, South Dakota State, TCU, and Vanderbilt. The teams are split into four pools
3X Nationals will serve as an evaluation for selection to various future USA Basketball 3×3 men’s and women’s national teams, including the 2025 FIBA 3×3 World Cup.
South Carolina is developing a strong relationship with 3×3 basketball.
Former Gamecock Allisha Gray helped lead the USA to the first-ever 3×3 gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Last fall, Sania Feagin led Team USA to a gold medal at the 3×3 World Cup, and that experience was a springboard to her breakout senior season.
