South Carolina was rewarded for its second consecutive undefeated regular season by dominating the SEC awards. Four Gamecocks were named first- or second-team All-SEC, tying a program record setin 2015.

Dawn Staley won her third straight Coach of the Year award. She has won the honor seven times, one behind the legendary Pat Summitt.

Kamilla Cardoso, last season’s Sixth Woman of the Year and second-team all-SEC, was named first-team All-SEC. She was also named Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the fourth Gamecock to win the award, following Aliyah Boston (the last four years), A’ja Wilson, and Ieasia Walker. Cardoso was also named to the All-Defensive team.

Raven Johnson, Te-Hina Paopao, and Ashlyn Watkins were named second-team All-SEC. Johnson was named to the all-freshman team last season. Paopao was a three-time All-Pac 12 selection at Oregon (first-team twice, honorable mention). Watkins hoped to win Sixth Woman of the Year, but the award went to Florida’s Leilani Correa.

MiLaysia Fulwiley was named to the All-Freshman team.

Awards were voted on by the league’s coaches. Ties were not broken.
