A’ja Wilson had another A’ja Week, Mikiah Herbert Harrigan scored a career-high, and Aliyah Boston did her best A’ja. Catch up on all the action in Gamecocks in the WNBA.

Each team only plays once this week. The All-Star Game between Team USA and the WNBA All-Stars is on Saturday, July 20 in Phoenix. Teams are off nearly a month for the Olympics, as games resume on August 15.

This week’s limited schedule does create an interesting note: Every game this week features a former Gamecock.

Atlanta Dream (7-16)
Laeticia Amihere (11 games, 4.7 minutes, 1.2 pts, 1.9 rebs)
Amihere left the Dream this week to play for Team Canada in the Olympic warmup games. Technically, she is temporarily suspended.

Last week:
At Chicago (78-69 loss): DNP- Team Canada obligations
Vs Las Vegas (84-70 loss): DNP- Team Canada obligations
At Seattle: DNP- Team Canada obligations

Allisha Gray (23 games (23 starts), 32.7 mpg, 15.9 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.0 spg)
Gray might need the Olympic break more than anyone. She has been carrying a heavy load for injury-depleted Atlanta, Gray has shown some signs of wearing down. She could use some rest – and hopefully the return of some teammates.

Last week:
At Chicago (78-69 loss): 37 minutes*, 20 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, assist, steal
Vs Las Vegas (84-70 loss): 38 minutes*, 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists
At Seattle (81-70 loss): 28 minutes*, 12 points, 3 assists, rebound, steal

Destanni Henderson (5 games, 17.2 mpg, 3.8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 2.2 apg)
Henderson signed a second seven-day contract on Friday (technically she had to be waived to be resigned, if you are wondering why she appears as “waived” on the transaction report). She had a couple of nice games, including eight points and five assists against the Aces. She should play again this week at Minnesota, and then Atlanta has a month to decide whether to keep her for the stretch run. That could come down to the health of Rhyne Howard and Jordin Canada.

Last week:
At Chicago (78-69 loss): 21 minutes, 5 points, 2 assists, rebound, block
Vs Las Vegas (84-70 loss): 26 minutes, 8 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals
At Seattle (81-70 loss): 13 minutes, 2 rebounds, assist

This week’s schedule:
Wednesday, July 17 at Minnesota (1:00 ET, League Pass)

Chicago Sky (9-14)

Kamilla Cardoso (17 games (14 starts), 25.9 mpg, 8.2 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.1 apg, 1.2 bpg)

Cardoso averages 9.0 points and 9.2 rebounds in wins and 7.7 points and 7.0 rebounds in losses. They Sky need to figure out how to make sure she gets going.

Last week:
Vs Atlanta (78-69 win): 31 minutes*, 10 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, steal, assist
At New York (91-76 loss): 20 minutes*, 8 points, 7 rebounds, assist
Vs New York (81-67 loss): 34 minutes*, 6 points, 5 rebounds, steal, block

This week’s schedule:
Tuesday, July 16 at Las Vegas (10:00 ET, Amazon Prime)

Connecticut Sun (18-5)
Ty Harris (22 games (22 starts), 30.4 mpg, 11.0 ppg, 3.1 apg, 1.8 rpg, 1.1 spg)
Harris had another solid week, including a stat-stuffing imitation of teammate Alyssa Thomas with a near triple-double against Phoenix.

Last week:
Vs New York (71-68 loss): 29 minutes*, 11 points, 3 assists, rebound
Vs Phoenix (96-69 win): 32 minutes*, 8 points, 7 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 steals

Tiffany Mitchell (23 games, 16.1 mpg, 4.9 ppg, 1.6 rpg)
Mitchell continues to be a reliable reserve for the Sun.

Last week:
Vs New York (71-68 loss): 17 minutes, 4 points, rebound, assist
Vs Phoenix (96-69 win): 10 minutes, 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, assist

This week’s schedule:
Tuesday, July 16 at New York (7:00 ET, Amazon Prime)

Indiana Fever (11-14)
Aliyah Boston (25 games (25 starts), 30.5 mpg, 13.7 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 2.6 apg, 1.4 bpg)
Boston struggled with foul trouble in Indiana’s disappointing loss to Washington. She bounced back with some A’ja Wilson-type box scores in a pair of impressive wins.

Last week:
Vs Washington (89-84 loss): 21 minutes*, 6 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks (5 fouls)
Vs Phoenix (95-86 win): 33 minutes*, 21 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks
At Minnesota (81-74 win): 35 minutes*, 17 points, 16 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 assists

Victaria Saxton (6 games, 2.2 mpg, 0.5 ppg, 0.2 rpg)
Saxton did not play last week.

Last week:
Vs Washington (89-84 loss): DNP-CD
Vs Phoenix (95-86 win): DNP-CD
At Minnesota (81-74 win): DNP-CD

Las Vegas Aces (16-7)
A’ja Wilson (23 games (23 starts), 34.0 mpg, 27.2 ppg, 11.9 rpg, 2.5 apg, 2.8 bpg, 1.8 spg)
Wilson’s shooting was off against Seattle (7-18) so she went ahead and grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds. Against Atlanta, Wilson became the first player in WNBA history with at least 25 points, 15 rebounds, five blocks, and three threes, and then they played the fourth quarter. And then against Washington, Wilson set the WNBA record for most 25-point/10-rebound games in a season (11), and the season is barely half over. She is also the only player in league history with three consecutive 20-point, 15-rebound games.

Last week:
At Seattle (84-79 win): 35 minutes*, 24 points, 20 rebounds, 4 blocks, 3 steals, 2 assists
At Atlanta (84-70 win): 37 minutes*, 33 points, 18 rebounds, 5 blocks, 3 steals, assist
At Washington (89-77 win): 36 minutes*, 28 points, 17 rebounds, 2 blocks, assist

This week’s schedule:
Tuesday, July 16 vs Chicago (10:00 ET, Amazon Prime)

Los Angeles Sparks (6-17)
Zia Cooke (20 games, 9.2 mpg, 3.4 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 0.7 apg)
Cooke has her moments, but she is shooting below 30% from the floor, which limits her effectiveness.

Last week:
Vs Minnesota (82-67 loss): 12 minutes, 5 points, assist (best +/- on team)
At Dallas (87-81 win): 9 minutes, 2 rebounds

This week’s schedule:
Tuesday, July 16 vs Seattle (3:30 ET, League Pass)

Phoenix Mercury (12-12)
Mikiah Herbert Harrigan (18 games (3 starts), 12.2 mpg, 3.1 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.6 bpg, 0.6 spg)
Last week, Herbert Harrigan got her first career start due to several injuries. This week she scored a career-high 12 points. She followed that with a near double-double against Indiana, arguably the best game of her career. Then, with the Mercury healthy again, she only played nine minutes late in a blowout loss to Connecticut. Such is life.

Last week:
Vs Dallas (100-84 win): 25 minutes*, 12 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks, assist
At Indiana (95-86 loss): 38 minutes*, 10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, block
At Connecticut (96-69 loss): 9 minutes, 1 point, 2 rebounds

This week’s schedule:
Tuesday, July 16 at Washington (11:30 AM ET, League Pass)

Unsigned
Brea Beal
Las Vegas cut Beal early in training camp.

Alaina Coates (Preseason stats with Seattle: 2 games, 8.0 minutes, 3.0 pts, 1.0 reb, 1.0 block)
Coates got a long look in Seattle but didn’t fit in with the Storm’s rebuild. She’s got lots of experience, though, and will probably be one of the first calls for any team that needs post depth for the stretch run.

Kaela Davis (Preseason stats with Seattle: 2 games, 14.0 minutes, 1.5 points, 3.5 rebs)
Davis was hoping to show she was fully recovered from an Achilles injury, but she didn’t do enough to convince Seattle.
