Jazzy Davidson, the third-ranked recruit in the 2025 class, announced her six finalists, a list that includes South Carolina.
Davidson, a 6-1 wing from Clackamas, Oregon, told On3’s Talia Goodman that her six finalists are South Carolina, Southern Cal, UCLA, Duke, TCU, and Texas.
Davidson has taken visits to Southern Cal and LSU, but later eliminated LSU from her finalists. She also eliminated Stanford from her list of semifinalists that she announced in January.
“I’m really trying to take my time with [the decision] right now,” Davidson told Goodman. “I have some visits planned for the fall. But I want to visit all of the schools on that list and so far, I’ve only visited two.”

South Carolina has traditionally had a hard time signing West Coast players. However, thanks in part to realignment, Davidson’s list is noticeably light on West Coast schools. At first, TCU may seem like an outlier, but the Horned Frogs are coached by Mark Campbell, who was formerly Oregon’s top recruiter.

“The combination of academics, which are super important to me, and obviously a really high-level basketball program,” Davidson told Goodman. “Just when I’m on campus, seeing the connection and relationship that coaches have with players and a family environment.”
One of the handful of elite players in the 2025 class, Davidson’s scoring ability – whether she is attacking the rim or hitting threes – is her calling card. Davidson was named the Gatorade Oregon Player of the Year as a freshman and averaged almost 23 points per game. She also chipped in 8.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 4.1 steals, and upped her scoring to 26.4 points as a junior. With her long, lanky frame, Davidson resembles DeWanna Bonner on the court.
In a television interview in January, Davidson said she had originally hoped to commit by the end of last season but then realized that wasn’t practical. She told Goodman she now plans to commit in the spring. That makes her one of the first top recruits to officially announce her intention to skip the early signing period in November.
