Bree Hall is back in the WNBA. The former Gamecock was signed by Golden State on Wednesday.

After four seasons in the garnet and black, in which Hall won two national championships, four SEC regular season championships, and three SEC tournament championships, Hall was selected 20th overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft by Indiana.

Hall played in one of Indiana’s two preseason games. She had nine points and four rebounds in her lone appearance.

Hall was one of three players essentially fighting for two roster spots, along with veterans Sophie Cunningham and Lesie Hull. Hall was the odd player out, and Indiana waived her on May 5.

Hall wasn’t picked up by any other teams, and last week she signed on to play in the 3XBA at the end of June. That may have to wait.

Golden State leaned heavily on foreign players when constructing its inaugural roster. But with FIBA World Cup qualifying tournaments taking place this summer, that roster has been depleted as players leave to fulfill national team commitments.

That opened a spot for Hall. She signed a rest-of-season contract and will be available to play Thursday night against the team that drafted her, Indiana.

On June 8, Golden State signed another former Gamecock, Laetitica Amihere, whom the Valkyries waived before the beginning of the season, to fill one of the roster spots. Amihere scored a career-high 14 points in Golden State’s game on Tuesday night.

The signing of Hall and Amihere brings the number of former Gamecocks in the WNBA to 11. Twelve former players had training camp invites. Nine former Gamecocks were on opening day rosters this season, one short of the program record set last season.

Eventually, 12 former Gamecocks appeared in WNBA games last season, but there were never more than 11 in the league at one time.

There’s also a “former former” Gamecock in the WNBA: Saniya Rivers played for South Carolina as a freshman before transferring to NC State. She now plays for Connecticut.
