South Carolina women's basketball: Golden State waives Bree Hall

The Golden State Valkyries waived former Gamecock guard Bree Hall on Monday.
The Valkyries signed Hall on June 18 to help fill a depleted roster while several players competed in EuroBasket. With the tournament over and players returning, the Valkyries needed to clear a roster spot.
Hall appeared in two of a possible five games for Golden State, including a chance to play in front of Dawn Staley on Sunday.
Hall scored three points in her debut, including a runner that was her first career basket. She was scoreless with a rebound in her second game
Hall was originally a second-round pick, 20th overall, by Indiana. She played in one preseason game, scoring nine points against the Brazilian national team. Indiana waived her the next day.

Hall won two national championships at South Carolina and made four Final Fours. She was a starter on the undefeated 2024 team. Her defense and knack for knocking down clutch baskets earned her the nickname “Big Shot Breezy.”
Hall was the second of three Gamecocks picked in the 2025 WNBA Draft. Te-Hina Paopao was the first pick and has excelled for Atlanta, where she is fourth in the WNBA in three-point percentage. Sania Feagin was the final pick and has been a little-used reserve for Los Angeles.
Hall was the second Gamecock waived on Monday. The Las Vegas Aces waived veteran Tiffany Mitchell in an apparent salary cap move earlier in the day.
