On Wednesday, four South Carolina women’s basketball stars picked up All-American honors. Both Chloe Kitts and Joyce Edwards were honorable mention All-Americans according to the United States Basketball Writers Association. MiLaysia Fulwiley and Te-Hina Paopao also earned honorable mention All-American status from the Associated Press.

Honorable mention All-Americans receive that distinction by earning at least one vote from an outlet’s voters.

2024-2025 marks the 12th consecutive season that South Carolina had at least one All-American.

On the season, Kitts is averaging 10.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while shooting over 50% from the field. She also is playing her best ball in recent weeks.

Edwards, a true freshman, leads the Gamecocks in scoring at 13.2 points per game. She also has chipped in 4.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.1 steals. Like Kitts, Edwards has made over 50% of her shot attempts.

Fulwiley, one of the country’s most dynamic athletes and ballhandlers, is averaging 12.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.6 steals during her sophomore campaign. She overcame a tough start to the year to become an impact two-way player down the stretch.

Paopao, an All-American a season ago, has logged 9.8 points, 3.0 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.0 steals this season. She has improved as a defender and been a more well-rounded scorer (on lesser volume).
