It was another bumpy week for former Gamecocks, as their teams combined for just two wins and seven losses.

The All-Star Game is next Sunday in Chicago. A’ja Wilson got to select her All-Star team this past Saturday before the Aces laid an egg at Minnesota Sunday. Because of All-Star weekend, most teams only play one game this week.

Dallas Wings (9-12)

Allisha Gray (19 games, 19 starts, 31.6 mpg, 14.3 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.2 spg)

Gray returned from injury against the Sparks, but did not appear to be 100%.

Last week:

at Minnesota (92-64 loss): DNP – Ankle Injury

vs Los Angeles (97-89 loss): 33 minutes*, 10 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals

Tyasha Harris (20 games, 5 starts, 16.1 mpg, 4.3 ppg, 3.0 apg, 1.1 rpg)

Harris is 15th in the WNBA in assist/turnover ratio, just behind Gray. They lead the Wings in that category.

Last week:

at Minnesota (92-64 loss): 15 minutes*, 3 points, assist, rebound

vs Los Angeles (97-89 loss): 16 minutes 4 points, 3 assists

Upcoming:

Tuesday vs Connecticut (8:00 ET, Facebook)

Indiana Fever (5-17)

Alaina Coates (8 games, 9.4 mpg, 3.5 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.4 bpg, 93.3 FT%)

Coates’ feel-good story came to an end on June 7 when she was waived by Indiana.

Destanni Henderson (22 games, 3 starts, 16.2 mpg, 5.5 ppg, 2.4 apg, 1.6 rpg, 44.4 3P%)

Indiana appears to be in a full-fledged tank mode (which isn’t that different from when they were trying). That includes limiting the minutes for one of their talented rookies. Henny has dropped to fourth in the WNBA in three-point percentage.

Last week:

at Phoenix (83-71 loss): 10 minutes, rebound, assist

at Phoenix (99-78): 13 minutes, 5 points, 3 assists

at Seattle (73-57): 23 minutes, 7 points, 2 rebounds, steal

Tiffany Mitchell (21 games, 3 starts, 13.0 mpg, 4.6 ppg, 1.2 rpg)

Why do Mitchell’s minutes rise and fall with Henny’s? Unfortunately, it appears the fever are ready to move on from Mitchell after this season.

Last week:

at Phoenix (83-71 loss): 5 minutes, rebound

at Phoenix (99-78): 8 minutes, rebound

at Seattle (73-57): 18 minutes, 6 points,

Upcoming:

Tuesday vs Seattle (7:00 ET)

Thursday vs Chicago (7:00 ET)

Las Vegas Aces (15-6)

A’ja Wilson (21 games, 21 starts, 29.9 mpg, 18.0 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 2.2 bpg, 1.6 apg, 1.0 spg)

Las Vegas dropped out of first place for the first time this season, going 2-2 last week. Wilson put up big numbers, aside front the team’s no-show Sunday, but the Aces have gone 2-6 the last two weeks and are a team with some questions to answer.

Last week:

at Los Angeles (79-73 win): 35 minutes*, 25 points, 11 rebounds, 4 steals

at Seattle (88-78 loss): 31 minutes*, 17 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists

at Minnesota (91-85 win): 31 minutes*, 15 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks

at Minnesota (102-71 loss): 22 minutes*, 10 points, 7 rebounds, block

Upcoming:

Wednesday vs New York (10:00 ET, CBS Sports Network)

Kaela Davis

It’s been a month since Davis appeared on the transaction report, which suggests her odyssey is over for the year.

Wednesday before the season began, Davis was waived by Chicago. Two days later, just hours before Chicago’s season-opener, the Sky resigned Davis to a hardship contract (Davis didn’t even show up on the league transaction list until the next day). She played 10 minutes that night against Los Angeles but was released on May 9, before Chicago’s next game. Davis was out of work for less than a week and was signed to another hardship contract by Seattle that Friday. She did not appear in a game for Seattle and was waived again on May 18.

Then on May 28, with several Storm players in health and safety protocols, the Storm resigned Davis. Davis played 18 minutes in the Storm’s blowout win over the Liberty on May 29, scoring 11 points to go with two rebounds and two steals. It would be her only game – Davis was waived June 2 to make room for returning players.

In two games this season (one with Chicago and one with Seattle), Davis is averaging 14.0 minutes, 5.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals.
