Civil is ranked 40th in her class by HoopGurlz. That is lower than a lot of players that South Carolina recruits, but she seems to be a late bloomer. Civil rose nearly 20 spots in the last update and ESPN tapped her as one of the “Starting Five” for the July live period.

South Carolina offered Civil on July 18, apparently seeing the same things that impressed ESPN.

Civil averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.1 assists last season. She is reminiscent of Sahnya Jah, who the Gamecocks were high on before off-court issues ended her time in Columbia.

Civil appears to be more of a developmental or depth prospect for the Gamecocks – they could use a big guard/wing in this class – but South Carolina has had some luck nabbing players with similar rankings. Tiffany Mitchell and Victaria Saxton were ranked in the 40s and Bree Hall was ranked modestly before blossoming into a top-15 recruit as a senior.

Civil has not announced a timeline for her decision or when she will take her visits.
