South Carolina signees Joyce Edwards and Madisen McDaniel were named McDonald’s All-Americans on Tuesday.
Edwards is the second-ranked recruit in the 2024 class. McDaniel is the 12th-ranked player. Along with Adhel Tac, they make up the Gamecocks’ second-ranked recruiting class.
Tac has already enrolled at South Carolina and is not eligible to be a McDonald’s All-American.
A three-sport star who also plays volleyball and soccer, Edwards was named the MaxPreps national high school athlete of the year last year. The Camden native committed to South Carolina after an intense recruiting battle that included LSU and Clemson.

Since Dawn Staley took over at South Carolina, the Gamecocks have signed 20 McDonald’s All-Americans out of high school, plus another five through the transfer portal. They have signed a McDonald’s All-American every year since 2018.
Since 2018, the only scholarship players South Carolina signed who were not McDonald’s All-Americans were Victaria Saxton, Elysa Wesolek, and Sahnya Jah. Like Tac, Laeticia Amihere and Chloe Kitts were not eligible.
The 2024 McDonald’s All-American Girls Game will be played on Tuesday, April 2 at 6:30 ET at the Toyota Center in Houston. It will air on ESPN2.
