Camden’s Joyce Edwards, the country’s second-ranked 2024 prospect, has set a commitment date.
Edwards will make her announcement at 5:45 pm on Wednesday, November 15, at Camden High School, she announced Monday on X/Twitter. Wednesday is the final day of the early signing period. ESPN and Watch ESPN will carry the announcement.
Edwards has narrowed her list of finalists to Clemson, LSU and South Carolina. She is widely believed to be deciding between LSU and South Carolina. The Gamecocks got her final visit the weekend of October 28, and since then Gamecock fans attended Edwards’ championship volleyball match and chanted “We want Joyce” at the home opener to try to sway Edwards.
Edwards and Sarah Strong have been the consensus top two players in the 2024 class for years, frequently flip-flopping in the HoopGurlz rankings. At 6-3, Edwards is a versatile forward who can do a little bit of everything, but she is most coveted for her defensive ability.

Edwards was the only high school player on the USA Basketball U19 team this past summer. During that time, she became close friends with current Gamecock Chloe Kitts and the two helped lead Team USA to a gold medal.
Edwards is the latest player in a run of Palmetto State talent that has included Alaina Coates, A’ja Wilson, Ashlyn Watkins, and Milaysia Fulwiley, all of whom chose to stay home and play for Dawn Staley.
South Carolina has already signed point guard Madisen McDaniel and post Adhel Tac for the 2024 signing class. Edwards is the Gamecocks’ last remaining target for this class and would likely give South Carolina another top-three class.
