In case you missed it, the WNBA All-Star nods were announced last week. A’ja Wilson, Aliyah Boston, and Allisha Gray were named All-Stars. It is Wilson’s sixth All-Star selection and the second for Boston and Gray.

Because it is an Olympic year the All-Star Game will not use the typical format. Instead, the USA Senior National Team will play the All-Stars who didn’t make the team. So Wilson will play for Team USA and Boston and Gray will play for Team WNBA. The All-Star Game is in Phoenix on July 20 and will be televised on ABC at 8:30.

Team USA has a second exhibition game on July 23 against Germany in London.

Wilson will be playing in her second Olympics. She also won gold in Tokyo in 2021. Gray won gold in the 3×3 competition but chose to focus on 5×5 this year and did not make the team.

Laeticia Amihere will also make her second Olympic appearance this summer, playing for the Canadian senior national team.

If you looked closely at the GamecockWBB social media posts on Monday you saw that Adhel Tac was pictured practicing with her teammates. Tac suffered a knee injury in late November and South Carolina has taken her rehab slowly. This is the first time we’ve seen her with her healthy teammates. It’s unclear how long she’s been practicing, but it’s a good sign no matter what.

The 2025 recruiting cycle is starting to gain a little clarity. Fourth-ranked Aaliyah Crump, who had a Gamecock offer, committed to Texas on July 8. The three players behind her in the rankings, Divine Bourrage, Agot Makeer, and ZaKiyah Johnson, each announced their finalists recently. Each included South Carolina.

If you want to watch some other possible future Gamecocks, the FIBA U17 World Cup is this weekend in Mexico. Players with South Carolina offers who are on the team include Jacy Abii, Kelsi Andrews, Jordyn Palmer, Jerzy Robinson, and McKenna Woliczko. Team USA plays on the 13th, 14th, and 16th.
