The No. 2 South Carolina women’s basketball team was scheduled to host the No. 5 LSU Tigers on Thursday night in Colonial Life Arena. However, that will not happen. Because of the winter storm in the South, the game has moved to Friday at 5:00 p.m.

All game tickets will remain valid for the big-time SEC contest. The game will be broadcast on ESPN, but “College GameDay” will not be part of the broadcast.

The University of South Carolina announced the schedule change on Wednesday. South Carolina men’s basketball will play the Florida Gators on Wednesday night as scheduled.

While the weather and road conditions in Columbia should improve by Thursday night, LSU is unable to travel ahead of the game thanks to the snow and ice.

The 18-1 Gamecocks have won 16 in a row against the Tigers and 53 consecutive regular-season games against SEC opponents. That streak pre-dates LSU coach Kim Mulkey’s time in Baton Rouge. At 20-0 this season, though, LSU is undefeated and hoping to add a needed signature win to their postseason resume.
