South Carolina made the top 15 for Darriana “Dee” Alexander, a 2025 top-five prospect.

Alexander is a 6-1 guard from Cincinnati, Ohio. She led Purcell Marian to a state championship last season.

She plays for the same AAU team as ZaKiyah Johnson, a 6-0 guard from Kentucky who is the fifth-ranked prospect. Earlier in November, Johnson included South Carolina in her top 12.

Alexander is a 6-1 guard from Cincinnati, Ohio. She led Purcell Marian to the state championship the last two seasons and was named 2023 Ohio Ms. Basketball. Last season, she averaged 25.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.6 steals.

Alexander has point guard skills and wing size, although her three-point shot needs improvement. ESPN recently ranked her as one of the two most versatile players in the 2025 class.

In addition to South Carolina, Alexander’s top 15 includes Tennessee, Southern Cal, Notre Dame, Ohio State, UConn, Cincinnati, Arizona, Iowa, Texas, Illinois, LSU, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech.

Alexander was a member of the gold-medal-winning USC U-16 team this past summer. She started all six games and averaged 8.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals while leading the team with 3.5 assists.

Note: Some outlets, including ESPN, spell Alexander’s first name with one “R” and two “Ns,” but USA Basketball and Alexander herself (who mostly goes by “Dee”) spell it as in this story.
