South Carolina made the top 12 for 2025 wing Agot Makeer, one of the top prospects in her class.

Makeer’s top 12, which she announced on social media, is South Carolina, Michigan State, UCLA, UConn, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Michigan, Duke, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Louisville, and Vanderbilt.

Makeer has been a steady riser in the rankings going from 60th to tenth and now sixth overall. Her thin build was a concern when she was younger, but as Makeer has grown into her frame her stock has risen.

Makeer averaged 19.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists last season. She is an effective rebounder, defender, and passer, but what makes her game elite is her shooting ability. Makeer made nine threes to earn MVP honors in her high school championship game.

Makeer can get her shot in different ways. She can create off the dribble, get open of screens, or hit the old-fashioned spot-up.

Makeer was born in North Dakota and then moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario, a city on Lake Superior near the border with Minnesota. In search of better competition, Makeer then transferred to Crestwood Prep in Toronto.

Crestwood has become the Canadian equivalent of Montverde or IMG Academy, a prep school that pulls in the top talent from across the country. Crestwood has sent over a dozen players to the NCAA, including former UConn star Aaliyah Edwards.

Makeer has reportedly visited Michigan, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, North Carolina

She has also visited a few schools that did not make her cut, like Iowa State. As a somewhat late bloomer, she has gone from being linked to programs like Marquette and Kentucky (pre-Kenny Brooks) to South Carolina and Kentucky (post-Kenny Brooks).

Reportedly, Makeer plans to take most of her official visits this fall.
