The Gamecocks received their championship rings in a ceremony at Colonial Life Arena on Monday night. One ring recognized the SEC regular season and tournament championships and the other recognized the national championship.

The ceremony was also attended by G-Hive members, South Carolina’s special membership level for fans.

The FAMS got autographs from the team and had the opportunity to pose for photos with the national championship trophies. Dawn Staley posed with fans at the “Gamecock throne.”. They got to munch on pizza, sliders, chicken, and cookies.

The rings. Designed by Jostens, did not arrive in time for the banner unveiling on November 14, so South Carolina decided to present the rings at a fan event on Monday.

“This South Carolina women’s basketball team showcased remarkable talent, and it was impressive to see them put the finishing touches on a perfect season with another national championship for their program,” said Chris Poitras, SVP and GM of Jostens Professional and College Sports Division in a press release. “Jostens is honored to join them in celebrating this outstanding achievement with a ring that is among the first of its kind in the college market. This unique, customized ring will eternally symbolize this team’s exceptional season and enduring legacy.”

The national championship rings have gold and white stones. On one side is the national championship logo under the word “Perfect Season,” and on the other is the player’s name and number around the Final Four logo.

On top are the three championship trophies with a garnet stone topping each one. The “20” in the 2017 and 2022 trophies is white instead of gold to honor the 2020 team that was the consensus no. 1 team in the country before the tournament was canceled.

The SEC championship rings have white stones and replicas of the regular season and tournament trophies on one side with the player’s name and number on the other.

Brad Muller, the voice of the Gamecocks, emceed the event. Rings were awarded to team managers, practice players, staff, coaches, and players. Mary Worley’s son Hayes eagerly ran on stage to accept her ring.

Addressing the crowd, Dawn Staley began by congratulating the football team for beating Clemson. Later, Sania Feagin dropped her ring and was chided by Staley, “You’re not supposed to do that.”

After the ceremony, Feagin showed off her rings. She said her mother has the other rings she has won for the other championships.

“I think I have one finger left,” she said.

Feagin let me try on her ring and I did not drop it.

The event was attended by a couple thousand fans.

“A long time ago, we didn’t have this many people show up at the games,” Muller joked.
