South Carolina women's basketball SEC Tournament Central: Thursday
South Carolina Women’s Basketball: News • Recruiting • Schedule • Roster • Stats • SEC Standings • NCAA Polls • Scholarship Chart
With all due respect to the four teams that played on Wednesday, the SEC tournament gets underway in earnest on Thursday. The four games may not decide who cuts down the nets on Sunday, but they could decide who gets to play in the NCAA tournament.
#9 Texas A&M vs #8 Mississippi State – Noon ET (SEC Network)
The first game of the day might be the most important. Both teams are on the bubble. The loser is probably out of the tournament, while the winner probably punches their ticket. The winner also gets a chance to knock off South Carolina on Friday, which would guarantee a tournament bid, but that’s a long shot.
#12 Kentucky vs #5 Tennessee – Approx. 2:30 ET (SEC Network)
Playing without Maddie Scherr, Kentucky still took down Georgia on Wednesday behind 19 points from Eniya Russell. Tennessee seems safely in the NCAA Tournament, but if Kyra Elzy can summon some more March magic and pull off the upset, the Lady Vols might find themselves back on the bubble.

#10 Arkansas vs #7 Auburn – 6:00 ET (SEC Network)
Auburn should be safely in the NCAA Tournament, and the bracket is set up nicely for the Tigers to make a run and boost their seed. First, though, Auburn has to avenge a regular-season loss at Arkansas. If it can do that, Auburn moves on to play LSU, a team it split with during the regular season. Kim Mulkey openly disdains conference tournaments, making LSU ripe for a possible upset.
#11 Florida vs #6 Vanderbilt – Approx. 8:30 ET (SEC Network)
Florida has tried to play spoiler over the past few weeks but hasn’t quite pulled it off. Vanderbilt is another team that seems safely in the tournament, but a loss could push the Commodores onto the bubble. Can the Gators final spoil someone’s season?
