South Carolina signee Madisen McDaniel suffered a knee injury and missed her high school playoffs.
Bishop McNamara made it to the WCAC championship but had to do it without McDaniel. McDaniel suffered a torn meniscus that cost her the playoff run. She had surgery on Monday, the same day the Mustangs played in the title game. McDaniel’s jersey was draped over a chair on the bench during the game.
McDaniel is a McDonald’s All-American and the 12th-ranked player in the 2024 class. She is the second-ranked point guard.

This is the second time McDaniel has been injured in February. In 2021 McDaniel tore her ACL and missed the next season. She fully recovered from that injury and led McNamara to the championship last season.

McDaniel is the second member of South Carolina’s 2024 signing class to have her senior season cut short by a knee injury. Post Adhel Tac suffered a knee injury in the fall and chose to enroll early. She joined the Gamecocks in January.
