The Gamecocks are 3-2 all-time against Purdue, but all three wins have come in the Dawn Staley era.
Staley’s first win over the Boilermakers was a 72-61 upset on March 19, 2012, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in West Lafayette. It was Staley’s first career trip to the Sweet 16. Seven seasons later, the two teams opened a home-and-home series with an 82-73 Gamecock road win on Dec. 16, 2018. In the most recent meeting, No. 5 South Carolina posted an 85-49 win in Columbia on Dec. 15, 2019.
