South Carolina's player representatives at SEC Media Days announced

The unofficial start of the new college football season is almost here. SEC Media Days begin next Monday, July 14, with South Carolina taking the stage for the first day of the four-day event.
Joining head coach Shane Beamer in Atlanta will be three players: Quarterback LaNorris Sellers, defensive tackle Nick Barrett and defensive back DQ Smith.
Sellers, entering his second year as the starter under center, is coming off a 2024 season in which he threw for 2,534 yards and 18 touchdowns with seven interceptions. He earned himself SEC Freshman of the Year honors for his success on the field last season. The redshirt sophomore is viewed as one of the early names to watch for in the Heisman Trophy race this season.

Barrett, a 6-foot-3, 322-pound redshirt senior, has been with the program since Beamer’s first year in 2021. After appearing in 25 games during his sophomore and junior seasons, he redshirted in 2024 after only appearing in four games plus the bowl game at the end of the year. He was credited with five tackles and has made 30 in his college career so far.
Smith is going into his fourth year as a starter in South Carolina’s secondary. He’s played in 37 career games and made 34 starts with the Gamecocks. In his first three seasons, the Columbia native has racked up 164 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and four interceptions.
